Terms of Service

The simple agreement between you and Calm Parent. We've kept it plain.

Last updated: 3 June 2026

What Calm Parent is

Supportive guidance, not professional advice.

Calm Parent gives parents and caregivers gentle, evidence-informed suggestions for hard parenting moments. It is a self-help tool for general support.

It is not medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are worried about your child's or your own safety or wellbeing, contact a professional or, in Australia, call Lifeline 13 11 14 or Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800. In an emergency, call 000.

Who can use it

Adults in Australia.

Calm Parent is currently available to adults — parents and caregivers — aged 18 or over in Australia. By using it you confirm you meet these requirements. If you use an account, you agree to give accurate details and to keep your login secure.

Accounts are optional

Use it with or without signing up.

You can use Calm Parent without an account. If you create one, it lets you save child profiles and the moments you mark as helpful. You can delete your account and its data at any time by emailing us. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy page.

Free plan and Premium

What's free and what's paid.

The free plan includes a set number of guidance moments per day (currently 20), the calm dial, the breathing pause, and crisis support contacts. We may adjust free limits over time.

Premium is an optional paid subscription that adds unlimited daily guidance, saved per-child history, and age-specific scripts. It is offered monthly (A$6.99/month) or annually (A$49.99/year). Prices are in Australian dollars and may change; we'll give notice of changes before they affect an existing subscription.

Free trial

Try Premium before you pay.

New subscribers can start with a 3-day free trial. You won't be charged during the trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription begins automatically and your chosen plan is charged. You can cancel at any time during the trial from your account and you won't be charged.

Billing, cancellation & renewals

Recurring until you cancel.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until you cancel. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.

You can cancel anytime from your account. When you cancel, you keep Premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again.

Refunds

Fair, and in line with your legal rights.

The 3-day free trial is there so you can decide before paying, so we generally don't offer refunds for change of mind on monthly plans — instead, cancel anytime and keep access until your paid period ends.

We will provide a refund where:

  • you were charged in error, or charged twice;
  • you were charged after cancelling;
  • the service was unavailable for an extended period and we couldn't put it right; or
  • for an annual plan, you request a refund within 14 days of the annual charge (a cooling-off period).

To request a refund, email support@acalmparent.app. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws.

Acceptable use

Use it as intended.

Please don't misuse Calm Parent — for example by trying to break or overload it, accessing it through unauthorised means, reselling it, or using it for anything unlawful or harmful. We may suspend or end access that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.

Your content

What you type stays yours.

The text you enter remains yours. You give us permission to process it only to generate your guidance and, if you choose to save it, to show you your own history. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

Disclaimers & liability

The limits of what we can promise.

Calm Parent is provided on an "as is" basis. While we work hard to make it helpful and reliable, we can't guarantee that the guidance will be suitable for every child or situation, or that the service will always be available or error-free. You remain responsible for the decisions you make as a parent or caregiver.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or guarantees that cannot legally be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes to these terms

We'll keep this current.

We may update these terms as the service grows. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Calm Parent after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. For any questions about these terms, contact support@acalmparent.app.

Calm Parent is currently available to users in Australia only. Last updated: 23 July 2026.
